The AI's aggression will increase exponentially as the race progresses, meaning the player must be super aware of his/her surroundings at all times. Taking cues from both the "Survival" mode from Burnout 1 and the "Marked Man" event from Burnout Paradise, players participating in Endurance must complete a 3 lap race without crashing or being taken down by the AI only once.

Also, laps are called "Rounds" as another nod to Mortal Kombat.īR: MKE features a total of over 60 characters/vehicles for the player to unlock in World Tour. Additional changes include updated cinematics and an updated version of Burnout News (a cutscene feature that was cut from the original's final version). Unlike the original Revenge, there is no differentiation between regular game modes and game modes with the Crashbreaker enabled (the feature is present in every game mode).
The staple game modes return along with Traffic Attack, plus three new game modes: Endurance, Tag Team and Team Road Rage. To make the game even more intense, crashes are more gruesome and the Crashbreaker has been updated to produce additional damage to surrounding areas as well as more brutal explosions. Impact Time and the Boost system returns and remain largely unchanged.
In addition, two extra World Tour ranks have been added: "Elite" (Rank 11 from the PS2 version of Revenge) and "Legend" (A nod to Burnout Legends). The cornerstone "World Tour" mode returns, albeit updated to feature updated tracks and locations from the original version and from past Burnout games as well as 36 more events, bringing the total number to over 200. BR: MKE retains and updates many aspects of the original Burnout Revenge.
